Are you ready to explore new technological territories and move beyond the screen? In the Minor Immersive Environments, you will experiment with designing hybrid digital-physical spaces that engage audiences in new and unexpected ways. Using elements such as projection, sound, objects, sensors, people, and interactive surfaces, you will create immersive environments that blur the boundaries between the physical and the virtual.
Throughout this intensive programme, you will develop both conceptual and technical skills that can be applied across a wide range of contexts, including museums, retail environments, fashion shows, festivals, events, conferences, and public spaces. The minor is open to students from all disciplines, fostering a multidisciplinary learning environment.
The course runs twice a year, starting in February and September 2026, and takes place at the University Campus in Amsterdam. You will work in state-of-the-art facilities, including the Makerslab, Audiolab, Immersive Lab, and a dedicated studio space, enabling you to bring your ideas to life through hands-on experimentation and collaboration.
